Shaw Scholarship

The scholarship fund was established June 5, 1988 in memory of Suzanne Elaine Shaw.  The fund’s purpose is the income from the fund is used by First United Methodist Church, Clinton (beginning 2010) for students pursuing degrees in the medical profession or full time Christian vocations.   One communion offering each year is added to the principal of the fund.  Only the interest is used for funding each year’s awards.  Epworth United Methodist Church awarded the scholarship for 1988 to 2009 then the responsibility was transferred to First United Methodist Church of Clinton.

The Shaw Scholarship will be offered first to members of FUMC or children of members of FUMC and then to others who are active in the programs of FUMC. The scholarship will be awarded on or about August 1 of each year. You may make a memorial donation to this fund at any time by designating Shaw Scholarship on your check. Monies left at the altar on June 5th communion Sunday will be designated to this fund.
