First United Methodist Church of Clinton will host the Lake Junaluska Singers from Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. We will be one of the stops on their summer Mississippi Singing Tour. More information to come. Mark your calendar now!
Senior Adult Events
FUMCcise – an adult non-impact exercise, stretching class will now be offered on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. in room 106 of the Gym. The first class will be March 2nd. Dress comfortably and bring bottled water if you want. Can’t wait to see you!
March 6th – Day Trippers are going to Oxford. We will tour the Methodist Church, Rowan Oak, the city of Oxford, eat lunch and visit the Oxford Square. This trip is limited to the first 26 who sign up.
March 29th – Adult Luncheon will host Chase Bryan from Collette Vacations. He will share with us some exciting trip ideas.

Missions Spaghetti Lunch
Sunday, February 12th, 2012
From 10:30-12:30, come enjoy a delicious spaghetti lunch in the FUMC gym. Eat in the gym with your church family or take it home with you. Homeless US Veterans staying at Isaiah House in South Jackson will be preparing and serving the meal. All proceeds will go directly to help the veterans. $5.00 tickets are available from the church office or Rev. David Greene.
Coffee with the Pastors

If you have been worshipping at First United Methodist Church and have a desire to learn more about our mission or have an interest in becoming a member, please plan on joining us on February 12th. First Tuesday Ladies – a group for fellowship, fun, Bible study and mutual support for widows – meets on the first Tuesday of the month. See the weekly newsletter for information on where and when the group will meet or call the church office.

Volunteer Training
There will be a volunteer training session on January 29th at 4:30 p.m. in the Gym. This meeting is for church volunteers and all Sunday School teachers. We will go over some guidelines and responsibilities, as well as looking over our safe sanctuary information. Please make every effort to attend.

CHURCH HOSTESS /HOST
First United Methodist Church of Clinton, MS seeks to fill the part-time position of Church Hostess/Host. The main requirement of this position is to plan, prepare and serve approximately 30 annual Wednesday night dinners and 11 monthly Adult Luncheons. Additional events with meals or refreshments may also occur. Number of hours of the position is dependent on the candidate’s level of involvement in inventory of supplies, placing orders, recruiting volunteers and other functions associated with event preparations. All applicants must pass criminal background check and provide excellent references for this position.
