What is the Connection?
The Connection is one of three Sunday services at First United Methodist Church of Clinton, Mississippi. It meets in the Worship Center at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The service provides a contemporary atmosphere with a timeless vision: connecting with Jesus Christ as our redeemer, and with each other in His name.
The pastor for the Connection is Clint Ware. He and his wife, Cheri and their three children moved to Clinton in the summer of 2008. Clint’s passion is to spread the word of God to everyone. He not only preaches on Sundays, but he also leads a men’s group on Wednesday mornings at Shoneys in Clinton, and has begun a ministry for home-bound senior adults.

In addition to Clint Ware, we have a team of people ready to welcome you and help you get connected with our church’s exciting opportunities for worship, learning, and fellowship. Sunday school is available for all ages at 9:45; please see a greeter for information about the locations of classes. Children’s church is available during the service, for ages 3-5. A nursery is also available for younger children.

The Connection was started in January 2007 and has developed into a service that brings contemporary worship music and a life-changing message to worshipers every week. The music is a blend of traditional and modern hymns and praise songs, chosen to help bring worshipers closer to the heart of God.
The style of worship is free and interactive, where all are encouraged to participate in whatever way they are most comfortable, whether it be standing and clapping or sitting in personal reflection. There is no dress code in hopes that all will feel welcome to come as they are and draw near to God in this atmosphere of joyous hospitality in Christ.
