“Claim the Name”

Our 2010 Confirmation class will be studying a book called, “Claim the Name”, which teaches United Methodist doctrine and basic beliefs of Christianity.  The confirmands will be in class twice a week; Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

Classes will be led by staff members of FUMC:  Renee Neblett, Davis Winstead, Rev. Mitchell Hedgepeth, Rev Clint Ware, and Stevie Jones.  The topics being studied are the following:

Jan 6-FLB—Parent/Confirmand Meeting

January 10th and 13th—Prepare for the Journey: Advent

January 17th and 20th—Celebrate the Birth: Christmas

January 24th and 27th—Grow Toward Faith: Epiphany

January 31st and February 3rd—Commit to Living: United Methodist Style

February 5th-7th—Confirmation Retreat—Camp Wesley Pines

February 10th—Prepare for New Life: Lent

February 10th and 17th—Ash Wednesday—Celebrate New Life: Easter

February 21st and 24th—Grow in Resurrection Faith:Means of Grace

February 28th and March 3rd—Commit to Life of Service:  The Great 50 Days of Easter

March 7th and 10th—Prepare for Pentecost

March 14th and 17th—Celebrate the Body: Gifts of the Spirit

March 21st and 24th—Grow in the Body: Fruit of the Spirit

March 27th-Day Apart—TBA
