Knowing God’s Will – Tuesday

When we are letting ourselves be passively conformed to this world, we can’t know God’s will, because we don’t value what God values. Oswald Chambers, the author of “My Utmost for His Highest” calls it, “Getting into God’s stride.” He says, “It is difficult to get into stride with God, because when we start walking with Him we find…He has different ways of doing things, and we have to be trained and disciplined into his ways. It takes a long time to get there, but keep at it.”
The Millennium Bridge in England had to be re-designed in 2000 because the pattern of many people walking on it at the same time caused it to wobble dangerously. In the same way, when we conform to the pattern of the world and walk in it, we get into a destructive way of thinking, which magnifies into a larger force.
When we get into stride with God, we are in union with him, and He is revealed in us. God’s spirit alters the atmosphere of our way of looking at things. That is when we are able to know and do His will.
