Presented From: September 12 – October 3
Description of Series
During the month of August we were blessed with several people who shared their personal testimony of how God has blessed their lives. Often times we heard people testify “that if it weren’t for the church, we don’t know what we(I) would have done!” So why is the church so important to us?
With Labor Day behind us, summer vacations over, school back in session and our regular church activities and programs resuming, it is a perfect time for us to discuss why we gather together as a church. Beginning Sunday, September 12th and for four consecutive Sunday’s in worship we will be attempting to answer the question, “Why do we do church, anyway?”

Weekly Topics
Sept 12: Reason One: Community
As the Good Shepherd, Jesus knew that sheep do best when they’re with other sheep.
“Why church?” is a multifaceted question! Can you think of the primary reason a person should be attending church? Are there reasons we need to be a part of the “body of Christ?” When looking at the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, can you discover texts that might encourage your participation in worship? How does it feel to be lost and then found?
Sept 19: Reason Two: Help Others

Sept 26: Reason Three: Money Matters
Yes, the church is always asking for money, and giving it is for our spiritual well-being!
It is not that human wealth has nothing to offer. When shared with a spirit of generosity, wealth can and does further much good in our lives. A spirit of generosity is fully expected. At issue isn’t wealth, per se, but how we approach it.
What kind of church would the church be if it did not reach out to help others? Perhaps we need to pursue life that is really life!
Why not take a note or two about what the church is asking of you that is good for your soul and helps you to grow deeper in your spiritual journey?

October 3: Reason Four: Mentors
Every congregation has two things – A Pastor! – An Opinion About the Pastor!
In what ways do you see your life influenced by others? Do you feel that inspiration has been more triumph in your life over information? Make a list of people who have been spiritual mentors in your lifetime!
